New state-of-the-art hospitals to be built in SA

Ghana: Singapore to Train Ghanaians in Oil Industry

 Accra — SINGAPORE will train local engineers and technicians following an arrangement secured by the Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah.   An initial group of 15 engineers and 40 technicians will undertake various training programmes in oil and gas to enable them return to Ghana with the expertise.   Buah said Singapore was making frantic efforts to tighten laws relating to Singapore companies.... East Africa: EAC States Could Switch to Cleaner Fuels Effective January 2015

 Plans for five countries in East Africa to adopt cleaner fuel standards in 2015 are likely to help absorb excess low-sulphur oil products coming out of Middle East and Indian refineries, where new capacity is being added, industry sources said.   Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Burundi are due to switch to the cleaner fuels from January 2015, according to documents posted on the websites of the regional intergovernmental.... Kenya: Efforts to tackle malnutrition receive boost

Glenmark, a global integrated pharmaceutical company, will spend Kshs5 million this year on a three-year programme to address malnutrition in Nairobi's Kibera slums. Speaking during the launch of the programme in Kibera, Jessica Mbochi of the Division of Nutrition in the Ministry of Health said that about 35% of children below the age of five are malnourished and called for more efforts to address nutritional needs of underprivileged.... Wind energy development booming in Kenya

 Kenya's wind energy capacity is considerable; the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has estimated it could reach 3,000 Megawatts (MW), more than double the current national demand. Kenya Power Customers to Get Loans to Fund New Connections

Tanzania: Local Communities in Gas Producing Areas to Get Three Percent

Tanzania: Tarime to Construct 20 School Laboratories
