Tanzania to undertake construction of mining and smelting plants

Tanzania to construct a new extraction plant at US$ 4bn

 A new soda ash extraction plant will be constructed at Engaruka basin in the North of Tanzania. GGBL sets up manufacturing unit facility East Africa

 According to the Africa Web, the equipment known as the Cube, is valued at US$4.2mn. The plant is currently producing Gilbey’s Gin, which was launched in Accra last month. South Africa s Scaw Metals to open US$40 million grinding plant in East Africa

 According to the Ghana Herald, the plant is expected to become fully operational in 18 months. It will have the capacity to grind 50,000 metric tonnes of metals per annum. Unilever to build a US$90 million factory in Africa

Tanzania s trade share in EAC increases

Firm injects Sh2.2b into Mombasa garments factory

 Mombasa Apparels EPZ factory commenced operations last week.
