Firm Sets Up Africa's Largest Biogas Plant

A Sh765 million biogas plant being set up in Naivasha will generate 2.2 megawatts of power when in operation. Speaking at the commissioning of the project on Friday, Tropical Power managing director Johnnie McMillan said the new anaerobic digester (AD) will sell 50 per cent of its electricity to Gorge Farm and the balance to Kenya Power for hook into the national grid. Biogas plant in Africa boosts energy production a year after construction

The constructed biogas plant in South Africa located in the Uilenkraal dairy farm in the Western Cape has broken the record by achieving a 1.5GWh electricity production this August just a year after it began operation. Libya's state power firm in talks with Turkish companies

Rwanda to Export Cement As New Plant Boost Production

Rwanda's only cement manufacturer CIMERWA Ltd, yesterday, unveiled a new plant expected to increase production and boost export revenues. The new state-of-the-art plant in Muganza Sector, Rusizi District, was inaugurated by the Prime Minister, Anastase Murekezi. Malawi Discovers New Mineral Deposits

IMPOVERISHED Malawi announced that new mineral deposits had been discovered in a $30-million geophysical survey sponsored by the World Bank and the European Union. East Africa's geothermal power generation to grow by 1000mw

Ethiopia geothermal power generation is set to grow after the country signed a power purchase agreement with Berkley Energy which is a Kenyan linked company that will see 1,000MW of energy being generated.
