Africa: Rougier upbeat despite sales dip

 French-based African hardwood and plywood producer and distributor Rougier expects growth to resume in the second half, after a difficult first six months. The company reports sales down 8.5% to July at €79.3m. Spices farmers to benefit from training on packaging

East Africa: Kigali Waste-Energy Firm Seeks to Expand in East Africa

 A Kigali-based sanitation company is considering selling its waste-to-energy business model to cities across East Africa as it seeks to tap into the region's garbage disposal crisis.   Pivot Works Ltd, which runs its demonstration facility in Kigali, converts human waste into solid fuel then sells it to local manufacturing companies as a replacement for coal.   The plant uses a dewatering machine to transform toilet waste....
