Tanzania to open renewable energy technology training centre

The director of the Innovative Technology and Energy Centre (ITEC), Dr Herb Rhee, has announced plans to open a training centre for renewable energy technology in Arusha, Tanzania. Solar power dominates rural Tanzania, says report

The report, released earlier this week by the National Bureau of Statistics and the Rural Energy Agency shows that grid electricity is the second largest source of power in rural areas with 34.5% of households connected, while solar is leading by nearly 65%.
