WFP Pledges to Boost Tanzania's Maize Markets

The visiting Executive Director of WFP (The World Food Programme), David Beasley confirmed that they plan to buy 75000 metric tons of maize from Tanzania, while he was in Dar es Salaam this week. This is in line with the UN organizations ongoing exercise to expand market reliability for the corns from Tanzania. Tanzania- Stieglers Gorge water project almost complete

According to the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, Stiegler’s Gorge water project in Tanzania is now at 80% complete. Dr. Suphian Masasi, DAWASA Acting Chief Executive Officer, confirmed the news and said that the project, which is implemented through the Dar es Salaam Water and Sewerage Authority (DAWASA), is expected to be completed by August 15 this year. US $175bn Gas Project to Benefit Tanzania
