With a new collaboration with the Mining Engineers Society of Kenya (MESK), Marula Mining has made significant progress in developing Kenya's mining sector.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which was signed by the two organisations, lays out a common goal for developing professional development, integrating communities, and encouraging sustainable practices in the industry.
Technical evaluations, important projects centred on critical metals, and the adoption of international standards to boost operational effectiveness are all part of this partnership. MESK will offer Marula Mining professional services in fields like resource estimation, management of the environment, and sustainable project management.
Through yearly internships and attachment possibilities for MESK members, Marula Mining will support young employment in the mining industry as part of the relationship. They will collaborate to plan workshops on important subjects like health and safety, technical advancement, and sustainable mining.
Through its sponsorship of significant community projects, MESK will contribute to the enhancement of Marula's CSR initiatives. Furthermore, a top Kenyan institution will receive financial assistance from Marula Mining to establish a research lab for mineral processing.
MESK's chairman underlined the parties' shared commitment to expanding Kenya's mining sector and their alignment of principles. CEO of Marula Mining said he was thrilled about the partnership's potential to boost local communities, foster innovation, and increase technical ability.
Investing in battery metals, Marula Mining is involved in copper, graphite, cobalt, manganese, and lithium projects around Africa. The company wants to produce key metals in an environmentally and socially responsible manner. Marula is now listed on the London-based AQUIS Stock Exchange and the South African-based A2X Markets. The company intends to expand to the Nairobi Securities Exchange and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
