In Mbololo, Voi Sub-county, Taita Taveta County, the National Drought Management Authority (NDMA) is building a Sh56 million water project.

The Mbulia Mzwanenyi water project is an initiative of the NDMA, in collaboration with the Taita Taveta County Government, aimed at enhancing drought resistance.

Chairman of the Taita Taveta NDMA Shallow Yahya said during the project's Tuesday kickoff that the goal of the project is to make it easier for the people living in the Ngolia and Mbololo wards to get clean water.

The solarization of the water system is a crucial component of the project, which should be finished in the next five months and offer a long-term solution to the area's ongoing water problems.

Yahya estimates that the project will help about 6,000 people in the area and be able to support. The goal of this project is to make it easier for the locals to get clean water. The solar-powered water project would drastically lower the community's water expenses in comparison to diesel-powered systems, he claimed.

For local schools, hospitals, and other institutions, the project will provide an essential supply of water. The project is expected to boost agricultural activity in the region, adding to the county's food basket and fostering food security in addition to supplying a dependable water supply.

At a cost of Sh4.7 million, NDMA is renovating the Tausa-Mwandau water project in Mbololo Ward, Voi Sub-County.

Mwadime pointed out that these initiatives not only alleviate water scarcity but also lessen human-wildlife conflicts—a problem that is frequently made worse by drought situations.

"This project creates avenues for new ventures, commercial concepts, and economic expansion. Kilalo stated, "Rather than engaging in divisive politics that will not help us solve our problems, let us seize these opportunities to better our livelihoods."

She urged the populace to embrace and defend government initiatives, stressing that their goal is to raise people' economic standing.

She restated that the project would improve the community's quality of life and improve education by providing schools with a reliable source of water.
