Tanzanian uranium exploration by AuKing Mining gets under way

According to Paul Williams, CEO of AuKing Mining Ltd, the business has begun planned exploration at the Mkuju Uranium Project in southern Tanzania. Parts of a significant radiometric anomaly zone close to the renowned, Russian-owned Nyota Uranium Project will be the focus of the initial 3,000-meter drilling and related soil survey operation. 

 

In the Mkuju region, roughly 470 kilometers southwest of Dar es Salaam, AuKing now holds six contiguous prospecting licences (PLs) and one near-granted PL application encompassing 730 square kilometers. Williams remarked, "We are happy to finally be starting our initial exploration campaign at Mkuju."

 

We have great hopes for successful findings from this initiative since Mkuju is so close to the renowned Nyota Uranium Project and because of previous exploration on our property. This will make Mkuju a significant addition to the already well-known Nyota uranium resources.

 

"Our initial focus will be around auger drilling and near-surface soil sampling, and depending on the results from these initial activities, go back in with deeper RC drilling later in the year."
