The Moroccan authorities is launching the "Cité Mohammed VI Tanger Tech" mission to make the port town of Tangier a vacation spot for the green financial system and sustainable tourism through 2033. According to Moroccan authorities, a 947-hectare industrial acceleration zone (ZAI) will also be built to house a variety of infrastructures such as "residential, tourist, and leisure complexes." Finally, the project will enable the digital transformation of Tangier through "cutting-edge" technologies on an area of 1,220 hectares earmarked for smart city development.
