Habineza pledges to boost infrastructure development

Democratic Green Party of Rwanda flag bearer Frank Habineza has said he will improve all roads connecting Rwanda and Burundi to ensure citizens of both countries enhance cooperation and trade easily.
Habineza said this yesterday while campaigning in the districts of Gisagara and Ruhango of the Southern Province.
“We realised that you need modern roads here, we will build asphalt roads connecting your communities to Burundi through Ngozi and other roads to ease transport of your commodities,” he said.
Habineza said he would work on both on-grid and off-grid electricity to provide the power to residents should he be voted president in the August 4 elections.
“We know that electricity is a problem and very expensive, it is hard for a citizen to have electricity but I have mobilised partners from Europe and promised to start a solar energy factory so that every Rwandan is connected to solar energy,” he added.
The candidate told Gisagara residents that he will revise land policy and abolish land consolidation system to enable farmers grow whatever they want on their land.
He said the current agriculture policy is not organised, claiming that farmers are compelled to grow one crop on the same land which results into hunger.
“We will end this and give you the right to grow whatever you want,” he told Ruhango residents.
But some of the residents who attended his rally said the candidate was promising too many good things that cannot be realistic in the foreseeable future.
“Moreover, what he is promising, the incumbent has already done or he is in the process of doing,” Jean de Dieu Sikubwabo, from Gishubi Sector in Gisagara District, said.
Habineza is today expected to take his campaign to Nyanza and Nyamagabe districts, also in Southern Province.
