p YCC was established in 1977 and started its operations in 1979, with two lines of total capacity 3000 tpd and added a third line In 1997, the company expanded its capacity by commissioning of 7000 tpd kiln Line 4 , which was upgraded to a capacity of 8500 tpd in 2005. This state-of-the art kiln, which was the largest of its kind in the entire Middle East at the time, was also supplied and erected by KHD Humboldt Wedag AG. VCC further expanded its capacity by another 10,000 tpd kiln Line 5 in 2011 which was supplied, erected and commissioned by SINOMA International Engineering Co. Ltd., China. p p br In 2016 by implementing performance management initiatives, Line 4 and 5 kilns are currently producing 9,000 tpd and 12,000 tpd respectively. br In 2019, FLSmidth and Yanbu Cement have teamed up to launch a Cement Knowledge Centre in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, KSA. The Centre will serve primarily the Saudi cement sector and ultimately the Middle East, North Africa and Sub Saharan regions. The Centre is the first of its kind in the middle east and is intended to be the center of cement knowledge and practical training in the region. p p br Yanbu Cement Co. won the quot;Best Cement Plant of the Year quot; award at the Comtech Europe conference held in Berlin. Yanbu Cement was selected among global peers for quot;Recognizing Excellence and Promoting Best Practice quot; in key areas including sustainability and energy efficiency, environment and safety excellence, as well as carbon dioxide emission reductions and the increase in production capacity by 15 percent with minor capital investment. p
