p Nitro Chemicals Ltd of Kenya was licensed on 21st August 2003 to import and deal in commercial explosives in Kenya. p p br Nitro Chemicals U Ltd was licensed in November 2004 to import and deal in commercial explosives in Uganda. p p br Solar Explochem Zambia was formed in 2010 and manufactures bulk and emulsion explosives including non - electric detonators in Chambishi near Kitwe in Zambia and is an affiliate of Nitro Chemicals Ltd both of Kenya and Uganda. p p br Solar Nitrochemicals Ltd is based in Tanzania and has recently acquired a plot of approx. 140 acres where large magazines to the tune of 160 tons of explosives will be constructed to store large quantities for distribution in the East African market. It is expected to be constructed by June 2015. The Tanzania Company will also be manufacturer of bulk and cartridges explosives. The land is in Kisarawe, which is 35 kms from Dar-es-Salaam. p
