Kishermoruak, Kenya Residents Will Gain from a Sh3.5 Million Water Project

Residents of Narok West Constituency's Kishermoruak neighborhood stand to gain from a Sh 3.5 million water project that will lessen the strain of procuring the valuable resource.

 

Gabriel Tong'oyo, an area member of parliament, stated that he had allocated funds from the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) budget to improve the standard of living for those residing adjacent to the Maasai Mara Game reserve.

 

It is anticipated that the nearby population, which travels great distances in search of clean water, will benefit from the borehole that will be drilled at Kishermoruak Boys Secondary School.

 

Residents of Kishermoruak have suffered greatly for years as a result of the unreliable water supply, particularly during protracted dry seasons. These issues should be resolved by the borehole," the MP stated.

 

Students at Kishermoruak Primary School and Kishermoruak Boys Secondary School had to miss some of their class time in order to collect water from the adjacent River Talek, which is located some distance from the school.

 

Because women and children must go several kilometers every day through wildlife corridors, where they run the risk of coming into contact with hazardous creatures, the situation for the community that coexists with wild animals was much direr.

 

The initiative, according to Ms. Mary Siloma, a resident of the Kishermoruak area, is a huge relief to the neighborhood, which had trouble getting clean water.

 

"We walk long distances to find clean water during dry spells, which puts us at risk of encountering dangerous wild animals like elephants," she said.

 

It is anticipated that the Kishermoruak area's inhabitants' standard of living will improve due to the simple access to clean water.
