With great pleasure, JSI announces that the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has chosen them to lead the USAID NextGen Ugavi Bora, Afya Bora (Better Supply, Better Health) Activity in Tanzania.
Through the 10-year activity, Tanzania's supply chain and pharmaceutical management (SC&PM) systems will be significantly strengthened to guarantee sustainable access to and appropriate use of reasonably priced, safe, effective and quality-assured health products.
The availability of health products and the advancement of SC&PM system maturity have both seen notable advancements in Tanzania. Forecasting along with supply planning, warehousing and inventory management, logistics management information systems and the ability of supply chain and pharmaceutical management personnel in all domains have all improved as a result of their close collaboration with the Tanzanian government.
Together with the Tanzanian government, JSI and their strong network of partners will concentrate on improving the workforce in pharmaceutical management and the supply chain, explaining and optimising procedures, improving governance frameworks, encouraging stakeholder involvement and making sure data is accessible and utilised to boost performance. They will collaborate with other organisations to develop sustainable solutions that satisfy the demands of patients, clients, healthcare professionals and supply chain employees.
In general, they will cooperate to guarantee long-term accessibility to and suitable utilisation of health commodities through a pharmaceutical system and supply chain that is strong, personalised, and highly effective, made possible by a skilled workforce, cooperative institutions and data-driven decisions that promote improved health outcomes for everybody.
