The Industrial Parks Development Corporation of Ethiopia (IPDC) has recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Aniy Furniture PLC, a Chinese firm known for its expertise in modern office furniture manufacturing. Under this agreement, Aniy Furniture will establish a production facility within the Bole Lemi Industrial Park, focusing on manufacturing contemporary office furniture for both local and international markets. This initiative, part of a larger investment valued at over Birr 2.6 billion, represents a significant step for Ethiopia’s furniture industry, supporting local economic growth and job creation.
The new facility is set to operate on a two-hectare plot, where Aniy Furniture will manufacture high-quality, ergonomically designed office furnishings that cater to the rising demand for modern workspace solutions. With the industrial park providing a strategic location and infrastructure, the company will have a strong base for exporting its products to regional and global markets, enhancing Ethiopia's presence in the furniture sector.
The IPDC’s collaboration with Aniy Furniture is also expected to generate employment opportunities for Ethiopian citizens, further supporting the development of the local workforce. This partnership highlights Ethiopia's growing attractiveness for foreign direct investment in manufacturing, with Chinese investors leading in industrial park participation.
