Rwanda to Export Cement As New Plant Boost Production

Rwanda's only cement manufacturer CIMERWA Ltd, yesterday, unveiled a new plant expected to increase production and boost export revenues.   The new state-of-the-art plant in Muganza Sector, Rusizi District, was inaugurated by the Prime Minister, Anastase Murekezi.   The factory, worth $170 million, has the capacity to produce six times the current capacity of 100,000 tonnes per year.   Speaking at the launch, Murekezi said.... Malawi Discovers New Mineral Deposits

 IMPOVERISHED Malawi announced that new mineral deposits had been discovered in a $30-million geophysical survey sponsored by the World Bank and the European Union. Natural resources and mining minister Bright Msaka did not specify the minerals, but other officials said they were phosphate, copper, coal, kimberlite, nobium and uranium. Mantra to start uranium mining

MWANZA, Tanzania – Uranium mining at the Mkuju River Project in Southern Tanzania may start in April next year.   The Deputy Minister responsible for mining in Ministry of Energy and Mining  Charles Kitwanga  said following the arrival of heavy machinery. East Africa's geothermal power generation to grow by 1000mw

Constructed Ngong wind power plant in Kenya

 The constructed Ngong wind power plant is to be commissioned in Kenya by Kengen in a bid to boost the renewable sources contributions to the national grid. Singapore firm to market Rwanda honey
