Commercially viable biogas plant in Africa begins operation

 First commercially viable biogas plant in South Africa has began operation supplying renewable energy to automotive manufacturer BMW.   A year ago,  energy company Bio2Watt and BMW SA signed a deal for power generation which saw the first power supply happen early October.   The two companies have a ten year deal that will see to it that up to 30 percent of 12MW of energy is delivered to the Rosslyn plant from the 4.4MW.... Mining Industry Pivotal to SA's Economic Growth

Mozambique: Joint Venture to Mine Alluvial Gold

London — The British based company Xtract Resources has entered into a joint venture with Mineral Technologies International to develop an alluvial gold mine in the central Mozambican province of Manica.   A statement from Xtract released on Tuesday said that the two companies plan to begin gold production within six months and expect to extract 32,000 ounces of gold per year. Uganda: Shs20 Billion Fish Project Launched

Kenya: Free Tractors, Seeds for Machakos Farmers

Kenya is Tanzania’s leading trade partner

 Kenya is Tanzania’s leading trade partner in East Africa. Medical Center in Africa to be reconstructed with improved facilities

European Union boosts road construction in Ethiopia

The European Union (EU) has pledged 540 million Euros to boost road construction in Ethiopia especially in rural areas for the next five years. Mr Antonio Capone who is the infrastructure leader of EU delegation announced that the money will be used to continue what he referred to as “a remarkable expansion of road network in Ethiopia.” The country had 26,000km of roads in 1997 but as of last year it had 100,000km.
